The Netherlands’ Kansspelautoriteit announced that it will increase the base penalty for unlicensed online gambling violators from the current €150k to €200k starting March 1. The Kansspelautoriteit said the base penalty can be increased by: 25% for ignoring a previous warning; 50% for targeting minors or problem gamblers; and 100% for repeat offenders. Cooperating with the government’s investigations will be rewarded by a 25% deduction of the base penalty.
