Theresa May is in Brussels for a crucial summit of EU leaders that will determine the fate of Brexit. The Prime Minister has requested an extension until June 30, but her proposals are likely to be given short thrift.
Donald Tusk has instead put forward a plan which would see the UK stay in the bloc until the end of the year, but Emmanuel Macron, the French President, is believed to be taking a tougher line.
Mrs May is in a perilous position having previously indicated she would resign if Brexit were delayed beyond June, whereas if there is no agreement tonight then Parliament will be faced with accepting no deal on Friday or revoking Article 50 and cancelling Brexit altogether.
